Colorful wall murals and wayfinding signage in Journey Land children's area at Journey Community Church

The Journey Land Wall Mural Story

We love a good sign project, but it's a rare treat when one gets noticed outside Augusta. The October 2026 issue of Graphics Pro magazine featured our wall mural and wayfinding project for Journey Community Church's Journey Land, the newly renovated children's area at their church.

The feature, written by managing editor Marie Fennema, is based on a conversation with our president and owner Lane Keen and senior account manager Elizabeth Agostino. You can read the full interview at Graphics Pro, and we'll give you the highlights here.

What Journey Land needed

Journey Community Church was completing a full renovation of its children's area, and the vision went beyond a sign on a door. The goal was an immersive, colorful environment with graphics that would make the space feel welcoming and alive for kids, paired with clear wayfinding signage so families could actually navigate the building.

The design came together as a collaboration: the church worked with a marketing company on the creative, and Elizabeth provided exact measurements for every area of the building so the artwork would fit each wall perfectly. That's a step a lot of people don't see coming - a beautiful mural design is only as good as its measurements.

The scale: nearly 2,200 square feet of graphics

This was a big one. In total, we printed a little under 2,200 square feet of graphics, and we touched almost every surface in the space:

  • Wall murals throughout the downstairs classrooms and hallways
  • Wayfinding signs attached to the central beam
  • Graphics applied to aluminum composite material (ACM)
  • A fully wrapped stairwell
  • Wrapped elevator doors
  • The upstairs lobby and hallways

The printer that this project bought

Here's a detail Lane shared in the interview that we're a little proud of: this job is the one that forced us to buy a new printer.

We've run Roland DG equipment since we opened the shop 16 years ago, and after evaluating the whole market, we added the Roland DG TrueVis XP-640 high-speed eco-solvent printer to the shop. The XP-640's wider color gamut is what let us hit the rich, vibrant shades the Journey Land design called for - and its print accuracy is what made the hardest part of the job possible.

That hardest part? The stairwell. The graphics there had to line up perfectly across multiple panels, floor to ceiling. Because the new printer produced panels that aligned precisely, the installation came together cleanly; and once the stairwell was up, the rest of the install went smoothly.

Working around a renovation in phases

A renovation doesn't stop for the sign company, so we built our schedule around theirs. The construction crews worked through the building in three phases, and as each phase was completed and its walls prepped, our two-person installation crew came in for two days to install that area's graphics. From proof approval to finished install, the whole project took about four weeks.

The best part of the story didn't make it into the magazine, though: the kids. When students walked into the finished space, they had no idea what to expect. They were thrilled. That reaction is the reason we do this work.

Planning something like this for your space?

Whether it's a children's wing, a lobby, or a whole building, large-format wall graphics and wayfinding follow the same recipe: precise measurements, quality printing, and an installation plan that respects your schedule. If your church, school, or business has a space that could use some color, we'd love to talk. Request an estimate at  or call us at (706) 364-2151.

Our thanks to Graphics Pro and writer Marie Fennema for the feature - and to Journey Community Church for trusting us with their renovation.
